About Riftspinner
A free robotic-spider survival game that runs in your browser.
PLAY FREE IN YOUR BROWSERWhat Riftspinner is
Riftspinner is a free, single-player survival game that runs entirely in your web browser. You control a robotic spider and hold a rift against waves of enemies that each have a distinct job. You loot guns off their corpses, spend ash on permanent upgrades, unlock new rigs, and see how deep you can go. There is nothing to download or install, and no account is needed.
Design goals
- Enemies with jobs. Every host has a role, such as shield, heal, split, explode, snipe or tether. Learning them is the game.
- Loot with a reason. What drops comes from what you killed, so you can plan a build instead of hoping.
- Short sessions, long progression. A run can take a few minutes, and your permanent upgrades carry into the next one.
Who makes it
Riftspinner is made and published by CablingGod Ltd, an independent studio. It is built with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript on a canvas, with no game engine and no tracking pixels of its own.
How it is funded
The game is free. The site shows Google AdSense ads on its guide pages, on the menu, pause and game-over screens, and as an occasional skippable sponsor break after a run ends (never more than once every ten minutes) to cover hosting. See the privacy notice for how ads and cookies work and how to opt out of personalised ads.
