Riftspinner Premium and gems

What is free, what you can pay for, and exactly what you get.

Last updated 12 October 2026. Riftspinner is still free to play in your browser. Free players get 5 runs per UTC day (the day rolls over at midnight UTC, which is 1 am in London during British Summer Time and midnight in winter). Nothing in the game is locked behind a payment: every rig, map, weapon, achievement and leaderboard is available to everyone, and nothing you can buy changes damage, health or any game rule.

Riftspinner Premium: £2.99, paid once

• Unlimited runs every day.
• No advertising on the guide and information pages (the game screen never shows ads anyway).
• 300 gems and the gold Supporter body colour, which can only be got with Premium.
• It is a one-off payment, not a subscription. There is no renewal and nothing to cancel.

Gems

Gems are an in-game currency for cosmetic styles (body colours, trails and kill bursts) and for buying one more run on a day when you have used your free ones. You can also earn a few gems for free by playing: up to 25 a day for clearing the three daily tasks and for achievements.

Prices in the game: a body colour is 300 gems, a trail is 200, a kill burst is 250, and one extra run is 40 gems (up to 10 extra runs a day). Every price is shown before you pay and you always get exactly what is shown: gems are never spent on random rewards, loot boxes or chance of any kind.

Gems have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and exist only in this game. We may rebalance prices of cosmetics in future, but gems you already hold will never expire while the game is online.

How paying works

Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own secure page, so your card details never reach this website. You do not need an account. We cannot see your card number. Stripe may ask for your email address to send a receipt, and we use it for one purpose only: to email you your restore code.

Your purchase is attached to the anonymous key your browser already uses for the leaderboard. When you make your first purchase you are shown a restore code (it looks like RIFT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). It is shown once and we only store a scrambled form of it. Type it under GEMS, then RESTORE to use your purchase on another browser or device. One purchase can be used on up to three browsers. If you lose both the code and the browser, we can check your Stripe receipt and help: contact us with the receipt.

Important: clearing your browser data removes the key. You can recover with your restore code. Using RESET ACCOUNT in the game also removes the key, so keep your code before you do that.

Your right to cancel, and refunds

Because gems and Premium are digital content that is supplied to you straight after you pay, you tick two boxes before paying: one asking us to supply it immediately and one acknowledging that you then lose your 14 day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You also confirm that you are 18 or over, or that you have a parent or guardian's permission to buy.

That does not affect your other legal rights. If something you bought does not arrive, does not work, or is not as described, email us and we will fix it or refund you. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 digital content must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If a payment is refunded or disputed through your card issuer, the gems or Premium from that payment are removed from the key.

The Android app

The Android app from Google Play is a free version of the game with no purchases, no run limit and no advertising. Premium and gems are only sold here on the website.
