New guides: the Ash Market and level-up mutations
- The Ash Market guide lists all 24 permanent upgrades with their real costs, how prices grow and a suggested buying order.
- The mutations guide covers all 17 level-up choices with the range each can roll and combinations that work.
- Fixed two wrong shop descriptions: Marrow Vat gives +12 max HP per rank (it said 14) and Scavenger Iris adds +16 magnet per rank (it said 28).
The Forge, the Goblin Cell and a faster site
- A rare forge can light on the map: spend ash to upgrade every weapon you carry up to +5.
- A very rare goblin cell drifts by. It never attacks, flees when hit and dissolves after 10 seconds without a hit. It pays a big pile of ash, experience and a guaranteed rare-or-better item.
- The site now loads faster and no longer shifts around while loading. Fonts are hosted on the site itself, so no request goes to Google Fonts.
- New guides: controls, special events and Rift II, plus this update log and a guides index.
Fix: silver and gold mission rewards
- Fixed a crash that could happen after finishing a silver or gold mission and picking up the power-up it dropped. A broken pickup can no longer freeze the game.
Melee rigs, daily task, briefing and reset
- Three new melee rigs: Bulwark (large and tough, slams), Harrow (fast scythe with lifesteal) and Gyre (orbiting blades). They find melee weapons instead of guns.
- A random daily task on the main screen that pays ash, with a streak bonus.
- The in-game briefing was rewritten and now shows your own key bindings.
- A Reset account option with a typed confirmation.
- Enemies can no longer poison you: a Spitter's glob damages you once on impact and nothing keeps ticking.
- Barrels come in small and large sizes, with a bigger, better-looking blast and fire.
Mission totems and Rift II
- Mission totems offer eight kinds of timed mission at three tiers, with ash, experience and guaranteed item rewards.
- Rift II unlocks after the wave 100 end host: tougher hosts, bigger rewards, up to 250 hosts at once and its own leaderboards.
- The player count on the menu now also shows the total number of kills.
- Pictures of every enemy, rig and item in the bestiary, the rigs screen and the guides.
Accessibility and cookie choices
- Remappable keys, numpad movement, mouse-only and keyboard-only presets, gamepad support, high contrast, colour-blind colours, bigger interface, reduced motion, slower game speed and screen reader announcements.
- A cookie popup with equal Accept all and Reject all buttons, and separate analytics and advertising choices.
Rift I redesigned as a living cell
- A layered cell-membrane background with nuclei, organelles and a cell wall at the edge of the map, which simplifies itself automatically on slower computers.
